Mark’s Daily Thought – Ideas from Mark Fritz to help you Get Ahead, Stay Ahead and Be Successful
Revenge is a very dangerous thing, and nothing good really comes from it. The most dangerous part is it takes the focus off yourself and puts it on others (and in not a good way). The best revenge is success…it’s about keeping the focus on yourself and creating a success for YOU (and you happen to get another benefit in that it makes the other person appear weaker in comparison).

There’s the published agenda for the World Economic Forum (WEF) this week in Davos — and then there are the elephants in the room.
“Severe income disparity” is the most likely risk facing business and political leaders according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risk 2012 Report. This finding really caught me by surprise. So while [...]

Leaders want to see the numbers and bring them into the decision making progress. It’s about bringing in more facts, but we also have to interpret the numbers with care. Numbers can be massaged to say many different things, and the best leaders will always ask the right questions to understand the right interpretation of the numbers being presented.

TV as we know it is dying, but most people don’t perceive yet the dramatic change that is bubbling below the surface. In a stunning report released at CES, Accenture points to a wholesale collapse of traditional TV viewing. The Obvious?
Looks like Amazon now have my book Organizations Don’t Tweet, People Do on their “shelves”!
Something I hadn’t realised previously was that my publisher John Wiley & Sons is able to do special runs of the book with individualised company inserts such as a frontispiece or introduction. They are also able to publish individual chapters, or selections of chapters bound in special editions. A number of clients are also buying in bulk which is great as the book was primarily written as an influencing tool for those trying to get traction with the social web in big organisations. Do get in touch if you would like to find out more about this by emailing me at euan [at] euansemple [dot] com

Mark’s Daily Thought – Ideas from Mark Fritz to help you Get Ahead, Stay Ahead and Be Successful
Keeping a strong focus is more about what you say no to, than what you say yes to. Unfocused people have a tendency to say yes to all what they see as good to do. However, there is an abundance of good things to do, and never enough time to do them all. Focused people say no to the good, in order to say yes to the great. You can too.

Action is what makes things happen, and taking action right away is always keeping the sense of urgency in everyone’s minds. Successful leaders are constantly communicating “why the time is now”…the time to take action. The key is explaining why now is the time whenever explaining what needs to be achieved.

Mark’s Daily Thought – Ideas from Mark Fritz to help you Get Ahead, Stay Ahead and Be Successful
You have heard the expression “it’s not personal, it’s business”. However, successful leaders make it personal in the right way. They create a compelling company WHY and then link it to the personal WHY of their key people. When the company WHY becomes personal…the magic happens.
